St Bart’s Food Bank – Summer Student Position

St. Bart’s Food Bank has an opening for a summer student (funded by the Federal Government) for 30 hours a week (Monday to Thur) for 9 weeks at a rate of $17.20 per hour. The successful applicant can start as early as June 26, 2023.

The  employee will assist with preparations for the monthly Food Bank and the Community Lunch.

Tasks will include preparing food hampers for distribution, unpacking inventory and stocking shelves, sorting weekly donations, bulk bagging, inventory tracking and other assorted tasks. In addition the assistant will help the Community Lunch Coordinator three days per month in preparing for the lunch.

The ability to work as part of a team with volunteers and also to work independently, once trained, is important. Good communication skills are essential. The employee must be able to lift 20 lbs in order to stock shelves.

All applications will be considered but priority will be given to those candidates with experience in working in a food bank environment.
