A shout-out to the TELUS Community Ambassadors Sunshine Coast Chapter, for their ongoing support of our various outreach initiatives.
The Ambassadors are a group of active TELUS employees and retirees, and, one of the largest corporate-based volunteer organizations in Canada. Passionate about giving back and providing a vital connection to their local communities, they embrace the company’s philosophy to “give where we live.”
The Ambassadors have been very generous in offering the loan of their van to pick up and deliver grocery donations from local stores, and also when we make warehouse runs to the city. When local merchants hold blanket and warm-coat collection drives, the Ambassadors are there, standing outside their vans in the cold, loading up the items desperately needed and generously contributed by our community.
The Ambassadors also meet at St. Bart’s Church Hall each summer, assembling backpacks full of supplies so that every student begins the school year well-provisioned. The annual Kits for Kids initiative is one of Telus’ most successful, and most needed programs. We are proud to offer our facility, and return some of the generosity they have shown us over the year.
