We don’t have all the answers here, but we look forward to exploring the questions with you. Together we are making meaning by connecting with God – who we recognize in three “persons”: the Creator, the Redeemer, and the Sustainer – and by engaging with our wider community. This is how we endeavour to “love God and our neighbour”.
St. Bart’s serves as a centre of Anglican worship, community service, and connection within Gibsons and the surrounding area. We open our doors and our hearts to all regardless of their beliefs. We demonstrate Christian values through our services, events, activities, and practices.
On Sunday mornings, we gather to listen to Scripture, talk about how to apply those lessons in today’s context, pray for ourselves and the world, and offer our thanks and praise to God. Every Sunday we gather at the altar for Holy Communion, and you are invited just as you are!
Downsizing? Inherited stuff from the parents? If you can’t figure out what to do with that broken jewellery, those meaningless trophies, that bric-a-brac — you can bring it to church. Give it to Helen in the parish hall on weekdays, or drop it in the basket in the narthex on Sunday. It’s a great source of funds for our church.
In 1991, the combined congregations built a new church around the original St. Bart’s. The enlarged building includes a bright, airy sanctuary with unparalleled acoustics; a church hall and adjacent newly-renovated kitchen; and office space. The plaza level is home to Chartwell Childcare. The Sanctuary and Hall are available for community rental.
While St. Bart’s awaits our new vicar, worship is being led by a team of retired clergy: Rev. Leslie Lewis, Rev. (Deacon) Steve Bailey, Bishop Dixie Taclobao, and Padi (Rev.) Julieta Taclobao .
